Ryan Swanson

Co-Owner

Ryan Swanson is the founder of The Exteriors Company, combining a background in construction with years of experience in engineering and leadership. He first got his start in 2009, launching a deck and landscaping business while attending Northern Illinois University.

After more than a decade in engineering and upper management, Ryan returned to his roots to build a company focused on integrity, quality work, and strong customer relationships.

Alexis Swanson

Co-Owner / Controller

Alexis Swanson serves as Controller, Quality and Compliance Manager, and Co-Owner, playing a key role in the strength and structure of the company. A Cambridge High School graduate, she began studying Business and Marketing at MATC before launching her career in the exterior remodeling industry. Alexis spent five years with another roofing company, starting by answering phones and advancing into production, eventually managing a window department. She continues to invest in ongoing production and installation training to maintain high standards. Known for giving 100% to everything she takes on, Alexis is trusted to handle the many moving parts that keep the business running smoothly.

As co-owner, Alexis is committed to growing the company she and her husband started from their home, built on the goal of giving customers someone dependable and great to work with in the exterior industry. She is also the Chamber President in her hometown, where she enjoys giving back to the community she grew up in. Outside of work, Alexis and her family enjoy traveling, ice fishing, snowmobiling, shopping, and making memories with their three-year-old son. She values a family-oriented company culture and strives to create an environment where the team feels supported and connected.

Jeremy Arrington

Branch Manager

Jeremy Arrington brings 17 years of experience in home remodeling and restoration to his role as Branch Manager. He specializes in organization, leadership strategies, customer service, and people management. Jeremy’s professional achievements include building a successful restoration and exterior company, helping many customers restore their homes to their pre-damage condition.

Jeremy’s goal is to expand The Exteriors Company’s footprint, ensuring homeowners receive lasting quality in their exterior projects. Outside of work, he enjoys live performances, outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, and skiing, and has volunteered with organizations like the Boy Scouts and Madison Herpetological Association.

Fun Fact:
Jeremy enjoys adventure racing and is passionate about outdoor activities!

Michael West

Production Manager

Michael West brings over 25 years of experience to his role as Production Manager at The Exteriors Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Michael’s previous roles include President/Production Manager at Complete Roofing and Exteriors, as well as Director of Product Development at Uniek, Inc., where he developed streamlined processes and built strong relationships with internal and external customers.
His key accomplishments include playing an instrumental role in growing a company from $5M to $130M in sales. Michael’s aspirations for the future include contributing to the growth of The Exteriors Company, aiming to achieve $100M in sales.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, attending Badger sporting events, and traveling the world. He also values continuing education and self-development.

Fun Fact:
Michael was a member of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band for five years and attended the 1994 Rose Bowl in Pasadena while his daughter was born back in Madison.

Carley Hubred

Office Manager

Carley Hubred, a graduate of UW-Madison with a degree in Social Work and Nonprofit Management, serves as the Office Manager for The Exteriors Company. Her prior experience as a small business owner and community coordinator has honed her ability to manage multiple tasks and provide exceptional customer service. Carley is dedicated to expanding her knowledge in marketing and helping streamline company processes.

Outside of work, Carley enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as boating, running, and snuggling her pups.

Carley is a professional photographer!

Chase Kubitz

Assistant Branch Manager

Chase Kubitz is the Assistant Branch Manager and a Project Manager at The Exteriors Company. He graduated from Deerfield High School, completed one year in the Criminal Justice Program at MATC, and also served in the United States Marine Corps before being medically separated with an honorable discharge. Prior to joining the team, Chase worked as a Design & Energy Expert with another remodeling company in the Madison area, where he learned the window and door industry inside and out while developing a strong foundation in sales. That experience also reinforced the importance of customer service, integrity, and transparency—values that continue to guide how he works with homeowners today.

Chase is known for his attention to detail, strong product knowledge, and customer-first approach, and he’s proud of how much hands-on industry expertise he’s built over time through consistent learning and long days in the field. Professionally, he strives to maintain a personal 50% referral rate by delivering an experience that homeowners feel confident recommending to friends and family. Outside of work, Chase enjoys spending time with his fiancé and their dog, Remi—often hiking or relaxing at the lake—and he’s also passionate about the outdoors, hunting, and soccer (which he still plays).

Scott Mack

Siding Department Manager

Scott Mack brings decades of hands-on experience and leadership to The Exteriors Company as Siding Department Manager. A Deerfield High School graduate, Scott spent 22 years running his own siding business and an additional three years as a crew leader, building a deep understanding of siding installation, material ordering, and job management. His expertise in both the technical and operational sides of the trade allows him to lead crews effectively while ensuring projects are completed with quality and efficiency. Scott takes pride in his craftsmanship and in helping build a strong, reliable siding department.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys coaching club softball and has a long history of community involvement, including 30 years with the Deerfield Fire Department. He is passionate about leadership both on and off the job, having served as Fire Chief for five years and a varsity softball coach for a decade. Drawn to The Exteriors Company through strong relationships and a family-oriented culture, Scott is motivated to grow the siding department into one of the best in the Madison area.

Scott served as Fire Chief for five years and was a varsity softball coach for 10 years.

Sam Hommen

Roofing Department Manager

Sam Hommen is the Roofing Department Manager at The Exteriors Company. He graduated from Cambridge High School and holds certifications across Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Sam has held roles as an AutoCAD Designer and Field Manager, and he credits much of his foundation to growing up around construction—his dad was a builder and has spent more than a decade in the building supply industry. Through years of helping with projects and staying close to the trade, Sam developed the hands-on experience and work ethic that prepared him to lead in roofing today.

Sam considers roofing his primary area of mastery and brings extensive training in EPDM and shingle roofing, paired with a detail-driven, systems-minded approach. One of his proudest accomplishments is earning his leadership position at just 23 years old, a reflection of his dedication and drive in the industry. Looking ahead, Sam’s goal is to make the roofing department as efficient as possible with little to no errors, while also continuing to learn and support the other departments. Outside of work, he’s all about the outdoors—time in a treestand or ice shack, weekends at the racetrack or on the lake in the summer—and he bowls at least once a week. He also enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and dog.

Justin Pohl

Sales Manager

Justin Pohl serves as the Sales Manager for The Exteriors Company where he leverages 18 years of distinguished experience in the automotive industry to drive organizational growth. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Marketing, Justin’s professional trajectory includes high-impact leadership roles such as General Manager, General Sales Manager, and Finance Manager. Notably, he made history as one of the youngest General Managers in the Russ Darrow Automotive group, consistently delivering increased net profitability across every dealership he managed.

Justin’s core expertise encompasses full-scale business operations, including strategic negotiation, advertising, comprehensive budgeting, and workforce development. He is particularly passionate about human capital—prioritizing the hiring, mentoring, and promotion of team members to help them reach their full potential. At The Exteriors Company his mission is to establish the firm as the gold standard in exterior remodeling while laying the groundwork for future expansion.

A lifelong learner and world traveler, Justin is nearly fluent in Spanish and is currently studying Italian. Outside the office, he is a dedicated practitioner of Muay Thai kickboxing and competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Originally from South Korea and raised in the Midwest, Justin also enjoyed an amateur modeling career, appearing in 15 publications worldwide. He prides himself on fostering the positive, people-centric work environment that defines The Exteriors Company.

Jermaine Williams

Project Manager

Jermaine Williams brings over 15 years of residential and commercial construction experience to his role as Project Manager. With a background from Milwaukee Area Technical College, he has developed strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused approach that guides his work. He is proud of his career growth and the success he has earned through consistency, drive, and dedication to the homeowners he serves. Jermaine’s professional goals include expanding his leadership skills, taking on more responsibility, and continuing to be a strong asset within The Exteriors Company.

Outside of work, Jermaine enjoys exercising, playing sports, camping, traveling, and spending time with family. He is passionate about helping others, often volunteering with organizations such as The Salvation Army, and finds fulfillment in contributing to his community.

Thaddeus Arrington

Project Manager

Thaddeus Arrington, a Madison College graduate, serves as a Project Manager in Sales. He is skilled in customer service and communication and is known for his approach to client relationships. Thaddeus’ past experience in sales has prepared him well for his current role, helping him better understand how to provide top-notch service and deliver optimal results for customers.

His professional achievements are rooted in his commitment to developing strong client relationships, and his goal is to continue enhancing his skills to provide the best possible service to his clients. Outside of work, Thaddeus enjoys climbing, playing guitar, and cooking. He is also a dedicated volunteer at a bird sanctuary.

Fun Fact:
Thaddeus once owned over 50 animals at one time!

Logan Schlefke

Project Manager

Logan is a dedicated Project Manager with over 10 years of hands-on experience in the roofing and siding industry. After graduating from Deerfield High School, Logan worked as a roofing and siding laborer, which laid the foundation for his extensive product and installation knowledge. With 2 years of project management experience, Logan excels in diagnosing homeowner concerns, addressing issues effectively, and collaborating with insurance companies to ensure homeowners get what they deserve after a storm.

Throughout his career, Logan has gained valuable experience in roofing and siding replacement and repair work. One of his proudest achievements is becoming a foreman at the age of 19, a testament to his hard work and knowledge gained while working with his father and his partners. Logan’s professional goals include expanding his expertise in window installations and continuing to master roofing and siding.

Outside of work, Logan enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, going camping, hiking, and road-tripping. He also volunteers at a local church preparing and serving meals for those in need. Logan is excited to be part of The Exteriors Company due to the product and installation expertise the owners bring, which aligns with his high standards.

Fun Fact:
Logan has visited 23 National Parks, with his favorite being Glacier National Park, which he and his wife visited on their honeymoon. He has known his wife since they were in 5th grade!

Wyatt Weaver

Project Manager

Wyatt Weaver, a graduate of Western Technical College with a degree in Building Science and Energy Management, brings specialized knowledge in renewable energy and energy efficiency to his role as Project Manager. He holds certifications in OSHA 10, ASHRAE Level 2 Energy Auditor, and Building Science Principles.
Wyatt’s professional achievements include meeting his 2024 goals and his continued professional development. Outside of work, Wyatt enjoys spending time at his cabin, snowmobiling, fishing, golfing, and coaching lacrosse. He’s also a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers.

Wyatt enjoys working at The Exteriors Company because of the close-knit team atmosphere and the involvement of the owners in the day-to-day operations.

Wyatt loves spending time in nature and enjoys being up north with family and friends.

Jeremy Olson

Project Manager

Jeremy Olson is a Project Manager with a technical background rooted in public service, earning an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Madison College and holding numerous certifications in the Fire and EMS field. With over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter/EMT and 13 years in the auto industry, he brings a strong commitment to safety, customer care, and high-level service. Jeremy joined The Exteriors Company in search of a meaningful career shift and was drawn to the company’s focus on complete solutions, employee well-being, and honest communication. He enjoys working with homeowners in the Madison communities he grew up in, strengthening local connections in a city that still feels small.

Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys gardening, cooking, and sharing the food he grows. He and his wife love exploring new places and discovering great brunch spots. Together, they enjoy walking their Great Dane around their neighborhood on Madison’s East Side.

He is certified to drive fire trucks.

BJ Meitner II

Project Manager

BJ Meitner brings a well-rounded blend of leadership, industry knowledge, and customer-focused experience to The Exteriors Company as a Project Manager in Sales. With a background that includes a degree in Human Services Leadership from UW–Oshkosh and a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Canisius University, BJ has built his career on communication, teamwork, and results. His experience spans coaching college basketball, working in sales and management at Builders FirstSource, hands-on installation work, project management in remodeling, and time with SRS Building Products. This diverse background has given him a deep understanding of the building process—from estimating to execution—along with extensive product knowledge across roofing, siding, windows, doors, and decking.

Outside of work, BJ enjoys staying active by golfing, working out, and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys working on home projects and is involved with the Dozer 52 Scholarship Foundation in Cambridge. Drawn to The Exteriors Company through strong relationships and a shared commitment to customer-first values, BJ is motivated to help homeowners navigate their projects seamlessly while ensuring they select the right products and have a positive experience from start to finish.

BJ has a strong passion for both sports and home improvement, combining his background in athletics with hands-on experience in building and renovation.

Roland Raether

Project Manager

Roland Raether brings a people-first approach to The Exteriors Company as a Project Manager. With an Associate of Arts and Sciences from UW Rock County and a diverse background spanning roles at The Nielsen Company, Grainger, The Mink Farm Tavern, and South-central Landscapes, Roland has built his career around delivering exceptional customer experiences. His attention to detail, ability to understand each client’s unique perspective, and appreciation for the trades allow him to create tailored solutions that prioritize satisfaction and long-term trust.

Outside of work, Roland enjoys boating with family and friends, spending time on the water, and exploring live music and local food scenes. A musician who plays piano and guitar and a member of the Cambridge Lions since 2020, he values community and connection. Drawn to The Exteriors Company’s family-owned culture and strong work-life balance, Roland is motivated to continue growing his leadership skills and make a greater impact within the team.

Roland is an amateur chef who regularly makes homemade ice cream.

Keaton Hubred

Project Manager

Keaton Hubred brings a strong relationship-driven approach to The Exteriors Company as a Project Manager in Sales. With a background that includes eight years in underground utilities and four years as a heavy and auto mechanic, Keaton has developed a hands-on understanding of hard work, problem-solving, and communication. His ability to connect with people, find common ground, and build genuine rapport is at the core of his work, allowing him to guide clients confidently through each project while prioritizing their needs.

Outside of work, Keaton enjoys spending time with his two children, who are his biggest motivation and the highlight of his day. He is an avid golfer during the summer and has a passion for anything with a motor and horsepower, with plans to return to asphalt racing in the future. Drawn to The Exteriors Company through an opportunity to pursue a new career path, Keaton is focused on growing within the industry, becoming a top salesman, and most importantly, being there for clients when they need him most.

Keaton is a man of many hats—whether it’s sports, the outdoors, mechanics, or music, he can connect and hold a conversation with just about anyone.

Rudy Hommen

Project Manager

Rudy Hommen, a University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh graduate, serves as a Project Manager. He is known for his strong people skills and ability to connect with clients, taking the time to understand their needs and guide them toward the best solutions for their projects. Rudy’s previous experience as a Window and Door Salesman at Feldco Inc. and a Salesman with Infinity Exteriors has prepared him well for his current role, giving him a solid foundation in customer relationships and solution-based sales.

His professional strengths are rooted in his ability to build trust, communicate effectively, and deliver a personalized experience for each client. Rudy’s goal is to continue growing within the sales field, building meaningful connections and helping clients every step of the way. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends, attending events in the Madison area, and focusing on health and fitness. He also has a love for chocolate and always has music playing, no matter what he’s doing.

Justin Fagen

Field Manager

Justin Fagan serves as Field Manager, specializing in siding and roofing. He is a graduate of Gateway Technical College, where he earned professional certifications as a Microcomputer Specialist and Office Application Support Specialist. While his education began in the technology field, Justin discovered his true passion working hands-on in construction, focusing primarily on concrete and landscaping. His diverse background gives him both technical knowledge and practical field experience, allowing him to approach projects with efficiency and attention to detail.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending quality time with his children and staying active. A unique fun fact about Justin is that he is a licensed body piercer and worked in a professional shop for nine years—an experience that reflects his steady hand, precision, and commitment to craftsmanship in everything he does.

Taylor Paar

Field Manager

Taylor Paar is a dedicated Field Manager who combines his background in sales with hands-on experience in project management. Initially starting in sales, Taylor transitioned into field management, finding it to be a better fit. His seven and a half years of experience in pouring concrete gave him a strong work ethic and valuable insight into project workflows.

Taylor is focused on delivering excellent results and continuously strives for positive feedback. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys lifting weights, exercising, and riding his Harley. His connection with owner Ryan, both personally and professionally, was key to joining the team.

Robert Hommen

Field Manager

Robert Lee Hommen brings diverse expertise to The Exteriors Company as a Field Manager. With a Welding Degree from MATC and extensive experience as a Journeyman Carpenter, Robert is skilled in carpentry, roofing, and tool management. He holds an EPDM rubber roofing certification and specializes in organizing and running jobsites efficiently.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys ice fishing, hunting, boating, and ATV riding. He is also passionate about spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them how to fish. Motivated by family, Robert joined The Exteriors Company when his son-in-law, the company owner, invited him to help grow the business.

Fun Fact:
Robert is a classic car enthusiast and dreams of owning a 1970 Chevy Nova.

Kyle Petersen

Field Manager

Kyle Petersen brings extensive hands-on experience to The Exteriors Company as a Field Manager. With a background in Conservation and Biology from UW–River Falls and 15 years of experience as a carpenter, Kyle has developed a strong foundation in both roofing and siding. Over the past four years, he has served as a field manager, leading crews and ensuring projects are completed with precision and quality. Known for his attention to detail and craftsmanship, Kyle takes pride in building durable, high-quality exteriors while fostering strong relationships with homeowners and ensuring every project ends with customer satisfaction.

Outside of work, Kyle is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing on the lake and hunting in the woods. He values spending time with his wife, Caitlin, and their young son, Wyatt, and enjoys watching his family grow. Drawn to The Exteriors Company’s strong reputation, Kyle is motivated by continuous improvement—both in advancing his own skills and helping his crews grow while staying up to date with new materials and techniques in the industry.

Fun Fact:
Kyle once made 76 free throws in a row at basketball practice.

Cloe Ohlenroth

Leadership Assistant

Cloe Ohlenroth, a Northern Illinois University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in English, serves as a Leadership Administrator. She is highly skilled in organizational support, communication, and multitasking, and is known for her thoughtful approach to both team collaboration and client interactions. Cloe’s experience as an Executive Assistant at Everlight Solar and a Human Resources Assistant at AMTB Delivery LLC, along with her extensive customer service background, has prepared her well for her current role, allowing her to effectively support internal teams while helping maintain a positive and efficient work environment.

Her professional strengths are rooted in her ability to coordinate leadership efforts, manage scheduling and processes, and foster strong internal communication. Cloe’s goal is to continue helping teams operate efficiently, enhance the customer experience, and contribute to overall company growth. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, sewing, traveling, watching reality TV, and going on hikes with her dog, whom she adopted from a local animal shelter.

Lacey Moreland

Administrative Assistant

Lacey Moreland serves as the Office Administrator and Appointment Coordinator, bringing a diverse background in education, administrative support, social media management, and customer-facing roles. She graduated from UW–Whitewater with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education, and her experience as an elementary teacher, studio coordinator, billing specialist, and administrative assistant helped her develop strong organizational skills, customer service abilities, and refined communication habits. These roles prepared her to support both homeowners and internal teams with professionalism, clarity, and compassion, while maintaining the high level of organization required for TEC’s fast-moving environment.

Lacey is motivated by making a positive impact and aims to continue growing her skills while providing exceptional customer service to every homeowner she interacts with. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her niece and nephews, exploring the outdoors, painting, reading, listening to live music, and participating in local volunteer efforts such as the Marshall Lion’s Club, Greater Things Now, and Do Good Wisconsin. Lacey was drawn to The Exteriors Company because its values of passion, excellence, accountability, and community impact align perfectly with her own. She finds fulfillment in being part of a team that always puts people first.

She worked on a family farm and milked cows for over 10 years — an experience she loved and says taught her real grit.

Madi Swanson

Compliance Manager

Madi serves as an Office Coordinator, bringing energy, precision, and a people-first mindset to everything she does. With a strong background in office administration and management, she is known for her ability to keep moving parts aligned—whether that’s coordinating schedules, managing commissions, or ensuring day-to-day operations run seamlessly. Her previous roles as an Office Administrator and Office Manager have given her hands-on experience across all facets of office operations, shaping her into a reliable and detail-driven team player.

Madi’s strengths lie in her knack for organizing data, working confidently with numbers, and creating efficient systems that support both her team and the business as a whole. She takes pride in her six-year growth within the industry, stepping into roles with increasing responsibility while continuing to strengthen her leadership skills. Looking ahead, Madi is focused on expanding her impact in office management and continuing to support team success and operational excellence.

Outside of work, Madi is all about making memories with her family. Summers are spent at the campground with her fiancé, enjoying time at their park model, while winters are perfect for cozy nights at home watching Criminal Minds and playing board games with her daughter, Korrie. She was drawn to The Exteriors Company for its strong values, close-knit culture, and commitment to doing things the right way. Qualities that continue to motivate her every day.

Shehide Munishi

Appointment Coordinator

Shehide Munishi serves as Appointment Coordinator, bringing confidence, strategy, and strong communication skills to every homeowner interaction. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Fashion Marketing from MATC and has prior experience as a scheduling coordinator and canvasser. Through those roles, she developed the ability to guide conversations, overcome objections, and build trust quickly. Shehide is especially skilled at deescalating situations, making homeowners feel heard, and then refocusing discussions to move appointments forward. She takes pride in how her field experience has strengthened her knowledge and prepared her for success in her current role.

Shehide is motivated by her passion for building connections and continuously growing within the exterior industry. She aspires to expand her expertise and eventually move into management or sales. She was drawn to the company for its family-owned culture and genuine opportunity for long-term growth. Outside of work, she enjoys crocheting while watching throwback shows with her cat, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and swimming when the weather is warm. Shehide is Albanian and Bosnian, bilingual, and her favorite color is blue.

Kassandra Woods

Appointment Coordinator

Kassandra Woods-Rodriguez serves as an Appointment Coordinator and is transitioning into an Office Administrator role, where she brings a people-first approach and strong communication skills to her work. With a background in sales, customer service, and childcare, she is known for her empathy, ability to manage multiple priorities, and talent for creating positive, solution-focused experiences for both clients and her team.

She takes pride in improving organization and efficiency while maintaining a high level of customer care. Kassandra’s goal is to continue growing into leadership roles, becoming a trusted and reliable resource who leads with integrity and supports team success.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her partner, going on cruises, and making everyday memories with their family. She also loves getting lost in a good book. A native of Puerto Rico, Kassandra is a proud Spanish speaker, a self-proclaimed hot dog enthusiast, and the owner of a rescue puppy, Nova, who unexpectedly found her during a 5 a.m. run.
