Emergency Roof Repair in Middleton

If water is coming in right now, call. Emergency roof repair in Middleton comes with a complication most homes do not have: steep pitch. Tarping a 10:12 roof safely takes staging and two people, which is why some contractors will quote you a next-day appointment for something that needs handling tonight.

Local conditions

What makes a Middleton emergency different

Steep roofs and mature trees change both what goes wrong and what it takes to stabilise it.

Steep pitch

Access is the constraint

Above roughly 8:12 nobody should be walking a wet roof without staging. A tarp thrown over a steep roof and weighted with lumber will slide, and it will take shingles with it. Properly securing one takes longer and it is the difference between a tarp that holds through the next system and one that does not.

Trees

The conservancy corridor

Unlike the newer open-lot suburbs, parts of Middleton have genuine mature canopy. Limb strikes are a real emergency category here, and they need a structural assessment before anyone goes up — a limb through the deck can compromise framing, not just shingles.

Valleys

Where the water finds its way

On a complex roof the leak almost never appears below where the water entered. It travels along the deck and down a rafter before it shows on a ceiling. Chasing the stain is how people pay for the wrong repair twice.

Ice dams

Older stock and steep pitch

The pre-1960 homes near downtown have steep roofs, under-ventilated attics and deep eaves — the exact combination that produces ice damming every February. Steam removal, never chipping.

Emergency Services in Middleton, WI

24-hour tarping

Properly staged and secured on steep pitch, so it holds rather than slides.

Tree impact response

Structural assessment before anyone goes on the roof. A limb through the deck is a framing question, not a shingle question.

Leak diagnosis

We trace the entry point rather than repairing above the stain, which on a complex roof is usually the wrong spot.

Ice dam steam removal

Steam, never chipping. Chipping damages the shingles you are trying to protect.

Documentation before tarping

Photographed before anything is covered, because the adjuster cannot assess what is under a tarp.

Permanent repair scheduling

The tarp is temporary. We book the real fix at the same visit.

I'm extremely impressed with the Exteriors company and their work. We had a strange door/lock issue, called MANY companies and the Exteriors Company was the only company willing to come and look at our door. They called me right back when I left a message, were on time for the appointment and did a wonderful job in fixing the problem. Tony and Andrew are the best! In addition to fixing the problem, they were extremely kind people, too. We need more of this in our world now. We are extremely grateful to have a working door again. Thank you! We will be using your company again and tell all of our friends about your services.

The Exteriors Company deserves 6 out of 5 ⭐ I cannot give them enough praise. I'll summarize here in case you don't want to read a lengthy review. The highlights were communication, quality of work, price, and customer service. I cannot wait to work with The Exteriors Company again. The Exteriors Company could teach a master class on contractor/customer interactions. If you need exterior work done, call The Exteriors Company! FOR REAL. LENGTHY REVIEW STARTS HERE: It took over a year and a half and meeting with 15 roofing companies to finally find the right company for my job: The Exteriors Company. My house has a modern/Frank Lloyd Wright kinda vibe - lots of different roof sections and pitches. A majority of the first 15 contractors that bid on my roof repair wanted to sell me a new roof. The problem with my roof was a design flaw and a new roof would have eventually led to more water in my house. This was confirmed by an architect. If you look at the before and after photo, you can see how ridiculous the design was. We had water coming into our house anytime it rained and when the snow melted. It was awful. We were lucky enough to have Ryan (the owner of The Exteriors Company) come look at our roof. The first thing he said after climbing on to the roof was, "You need to redo this whole area," confirming what we already knew. That was the first clue that we found a good roofing contractor. After talking in person and over email with Ryan and getting the contract for the project, we knew we found the right company. Ryan was so communicative. He reached out regularly through the repair process. We had four different teams (framing, roofing, siding and gutters) work on our repair. We were notified in advance when to expect each team. Then each team project manager reached out via text a day or two before and the day of their work. Each team was on time and did beautiful work. They were also tidy and I felt like they respected our home and property. Shout out to Taylor Paar and Scott Mack (roofing project manager and siding manager). Both these fellows came to meet with me and my husband to review the work that was done and to make sure everything was done to our liking. And to make sure we didn't have any concerns or questions. The entire experience from start to finish was incredible. The Exteriors Company very obviously cares deeply about the quality of their work and customer satisfaction. If I could give more than five stars, I would gladly do that. I wish more contractors/vendors followed the playbook that The Exteriors Company has perfected. JOB ???????? WELL ???????? DONE ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Middleton Exterior Emergency Questions

Answered by Experts

Yes, and it takes staging and two people rather than one person with a ladder. That is why it costs more than tarping a shallow roof and why some contractors will offer you a next-day appointment instead. A tarp thrown over a steep roof and weighted down will slide, usually taking shingles with it.

A structural assessment before anyone works on it. A limb that penetrated the deck may have compromised framing, and that changes both the repair and how it should be tarped. We do not put weight on a roof we have not assessed.

Almost certainly not directly above it. On a complex Middleton roof water enters at a valley, chimney or sidewall, then travels along the deck and down a rafter before it shows. Repairing above the stain is how people pay for the wrong fix twice. We trace it.

Emergency tarping is same-day, often within a few hours. We are 12 miles out. After a major storm the queue is longer because everyone calls at once, and we will give you a real time rather than a vague one.

No, and on a Middleton roof less than anywhere. Steep wet pitch is how people get seriously hurt. Contain the water inside, move what you can, and let us handle the roof.

No. A tarp buys you weeks, not months. We schedule the permanent repair at the same visit so you are not calling back when the next storm comes through.
