Middleton hail damage repair has a specific problem that simpler suburbs do not: complex roofs get underscoped. An adjuster working from a satellite measurement routinely misses valleys, dormer returns and steep-pitch access on a Middleton home, and the first estimate comes in well short of what the repair actually costs.
Four things drive the gap between the first insurance estimate and the real cost of repairing a Middleton roof.
Satellite vs reality
Aerial measurement software reads roof area well and reads complexity badly. Valleys, dormer returns and cricket flashing get flattened into square footage, and the waste factor on a cut-up roof is far higher than the default the software applies.
Steep pitch
Anything above 8:12 requires staging and roof jacks, and that is a line item an adjuster who never went on the roof will not have included. It is legitimate and it is supplementable, but only if someone documents it.
Bruising
Granules knocked loose, mat bruised underneath. It does not leak and you cannot see it from the driveway. Test squares have to be marked and photographed properly or the damage is invisible to the claim.
Not just the roof
Hail that hit the roof hit the siding, the gutters, the screens and often the skylights on the same face. On a Middleton home the window and door packages are frequently the largest line items, and they are the ones most often left out.
Emergency response first, then a documented claim and a proper repair — across every exterior trade.
Same-day. Stops water entry before the claim process even begins.
Test squares marked and photographed the way an adjuster does, so the report holds up.
On the roof, with documentation. On a complex roofline this is where the claim is won or lost.
When the first scope misses valleys, waste factor or steep-pitch access, we file for it. This is the core of our work here.
Roof, siding, gutters, screens and skylights under one claim rather than four conversations.
If we do not think you have a claim, we will tell you. That is a shorter conversation than a denied one.
Your deductible is what you owe on an approved claim. Be cautious with any contractor offering to waive, cover or rebate it — in Wisconsin that arrangement creates real legal exposure for the homeowner as well as the contractor.

I'm extremely impressed with the Exteriors company and their work. We had a strange door/lock issue, called MANY companies and the Exteriors Company was the only company willing to come and look at our door. They called me right back when I left a message, were on time for the appointment and did a wonderful job in fixing the problem. Tony and Andrew are the best! In addition to fixing the problem, they were extremely kind people, too. We need more of this in our world now. We are extremely grateful to have a working door again. Thank you! We will be using your company again and tell all of our friends about your services.![]()

The Exteriors Company deserves 6 out of 5 ⭐ I cannot give them enough praise. I'll summarize here in case you don't want to read a lengthy review. The highlights were communication, quality of work, price, and customer service. I cannot wait to work with The Exteriors Company again. The Exteriors Company could teach a master class on contractor/customer interactions. If you need exterior work done, call The Exteriors Company! FOR REAL. LENGTHY REVIEW STARTS HERE: It took over a year and a half and meeting with 15 roofing companies to finally find the right company for my job: The Exteriors Company. My house has a modern/Frank Lloyd Wright kinda vibe - lots of different roof sections and pitches. A majority of the first 15 contractors that bid on my roof repair wanted to sell me a new roof. The problem with my roof was a design flaw and a new roof would have eventually led to more water in my house. This was confirmed by an architect. If you look at the before and after photo, you can see how ridiculous the design was. We had water coming into our house anytime it rained and when the snow melted. It was awful. We were lucky enough to have Ryan (the owner of The Exteriors Company) come look at our roof. The first thing he said after climbing on to the roof was, "You need to redo this whole area," confirming what we already knew. That was the first clue that we found a good roofing contractor. After talking in person and over email with Ryan and getting the contract for the project, we knew we found the right company. Ryan was so communicative. He reached out regularly through the repair process. We had four different teams (framing, roofing, siding and gutters) work on our repair. We were notified in advance when to expect each team. Then each team project manager reached out via text a day or two before and the day of their work. Each team was on time and did beautiful work. They were also tidy and I felt like they respected our home and property. Shout out to Taylor Paar and Scott Mack (roofing project manager and siding manager). Both these fellows came to meet with me and my husband to review the work that was done and to make sure everything was done to our liking. And to make sure we didn't have any concerns or questions. The entire experience from start to finish was incredible. The Exteriors Company very obviously cares deeply about the quality of their work and customer satisfaction. If I could give more than five stars, I would gladly do that. I wish more contractors/vendors followed the playbook that The Exteriors Company has perfected. JOB ???????? WELL ???????? DONE ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????![]()

It is common here specifically. Aerial measurement software reads roof area accurately and complexity poorly, so valleys, dormer returns and steep-pitch access frequently do not make it into the first scope. That is what supplements exist for. We document what was missed and file it — you are not stuck with the first number.
A supplement is a request to your insurer to revise the approved scope when the actual repair requires work the original estimate did not include. If it is approved, your insurer pays it and your deductible does not change. On complex Middleton rooflines supplements are routine rather than exceptional.
No. You choose who works on your home. Insurers can suggest a preferred vendor, but the decision is yours, and a preferred vendor’s obligation runs partly to the carrier that sends them work — which matters most on exactly the claims where scope is disputed.
It depends on your policy, and many carriers set a window of roughly one year from the date of loss. Check your specific policy language, because the clock runs from the storm date rather than from when you noticed. Documenting early matters even when nothing is leaking.
Hail rarely hits only the roof. On Middleton homes the skylight and window packages are often the largest single line items in a claim, and they are the ones most commonly left out of the first scope. If your roof was approved, get the whole elevation inspected before the claim closes.
Denials are frequently about documentation rather than the damage itself. If we inspected and believe there is a legitimate claim, we can provide photographic documentation for a reinspection request. We will also tell you honestly when we think a denial was correct.
