We are the Waunakee exterior contractors who specify for the thing that actually defines this market — open ground. Farmland on three sides, young landscaping, and wind that reaches your house having been slowed by nothing. Our shop is 14 miles south on S. Stoughton Road and we have completed 33 jobs inside the 53597 ZIP.

Tear-off and replacement, storm damage repair, and leak diagnosis on asphalt, metal, and flat systems. Wisconsin freeze-thaw cycles are hard on roofs — most of what we replace failed at the flashing and ice dam line, not in the field.
Full-frame and insert replacement in vinyl, fiberglass, and clad wood. In a Wisconsin winter the payback shows up on the January gas bill — we’ll tell you honestly whether your existing units are worth keeping.
Fiber cement, engineered wood, vinyl, and steel. We pull the old course back far enough to check sheathing and house wrap — cupping and buckling are usually a moisture problem, not a siding problem.
Seamless aluminum formed on site, oversized 6″ runs, and guard systems. Most ice dam calls we take are a gutter and ventilation issue combined — worth fixing together rather than one at a time.
Same-day emergency tarping, a free HAAG-certified documented inspection, and we meet your adjuster on the roof so nothing gets missed. After a storm, two things matter — stopping active damage now and getting a fair, fully documented insurance claim.
When exterior damage can’t wait, our team is ready to help. We provide fast, dependable solutions for urgent roofing, siding, window, and storm-related issues to help protect your home from further damage.
Local conditions
In most towns the build era tells you what is failing. In Waunakee it matters where the house sits almost as much.
What defines this market
Waunakee sits north of the lakes with farmland on three sides and young landscaping in most subdivisions. Wind arrives at your house having been slowed by nothing, and that single fact drives most of what we find here — on roofs, siding, windows and gutters alike. When that wind opens a roof, we offer emergency roof repair and wind-rated tarping the same day.
Downtown and Main Street
The older core: steeper pitches, original decking, under-ventilated attics and the ice damming that comes with them. These houses also sit in the most sheltered part of the village, which is why their failures look more like Madison’s than like the newer subdivisions’. Here’s how to stop ice dams on older homes.
Established subdivisions
Landscaping has matured enough to provide some shelter. Failures here are mostly age and installation quality rather than exposure — original three-tab roofs at end of life, first-generation vinyl going wavy.
The newer edges
Young trees, open lots, and houses on the outer edge facing open ground directly. This is where exposure does its work, and where specification at install time matters most — nailing pattern, starter coverage, hanger type, fastener spacing.
Why one contractor
Most homeowners hire a roofer, then a siding company, then somebody for gutters. On an exposed lot all three are solving the same problem badly and separately.
The wind that lifts your ridge cap is the same wind that disengages a siding lock, drives rain under a window sill and gets under a gutter. One contractor who understands the exposure specifies for it across the whole envelope.
On a Waunakee lot one elevation takes almost all the load. Steel or fiber cement there, a less expensive material elsewhere, better windows on that side first. Almost nobody offers a mixed specification unprompted. On the windward roof plane, impact-resistant shingles are worth pricing.
A wind event that broke roof seals also hit siding, screens and gutters on the same elevation. One contractor documenting all of it is the difference between a complete claim and a partial one.
Six nails instead of four. Hidden hangers instead of spikes. Tightened siding fastener spacing. None of it costs much at install and all of it decides what happens in year eight.
When the roofer blames the siding crew and the siding crew blames the roofer, you are the one holding the leak. Our 25-year workmanship warranty covers the whole envelope.
We file with the Village of Waunakee once for the project rather than you coordinating three applications and three inspection windows.
Permits & code
Waunakee is a village, so the permit comes from the Village rather than a city department, and the process is separate from Madison's and from Dane County. On a combined project that means one application covering the whole scope.

Waunakee questions
The whole exterior. Roofing, siding, windows, gutters, soffit and fascia, and storm restoration across all of it. On a Waunakee lot that matters because exposure is a single condition affecting every component, not five separate problems for five separate contractors.
No – our shop is at 2117 S Stoughton Road in Madison, 14 miles south. What that buys you is the same crews and project managers on every job rather than subcontracting to whoever is closest. We have completed 33 jobs inside the 53597 ZIP.
For roof replacement, siding replacement and window replacement, generally yes. Waunakee is a village, so the permit comes from the Village of Waunakee rather than a city department, and its process is separate from Madison’s and from Dane County. We pull it as part of the job.
Fair question and it varies a lot within Waunakee. A house in a built-out subdivision with twenty-year-old trees is meaningfully sheltered. A house on the outer edge facing open farmland with young landscaping is not. We will tell you which you are, and if you are sheltered we will not specify for wind you do not get.
Using a more durable material on the elevation that takes the wind and a less expensive one on the three that do not. Steel or fiber cement on the windward side, insulated vinyl elsewhere. It is not a standard package, most contractors will not offer it, and on an exposed Waunakee lot it is frequently the best value available.
Usually yes — one event, one claim, one deductible, even when the roof, siding, screens and gutters are all involved. Partial documentation is the most common reason homeowners end up paying for the second half themselves.
Yes. Low-slope and flat systems including EPDM, TPO and modified bitumen, plus siding and envelope work on commercial, multi-family and outbuilding structures.
